Rare Disease Day

NORD is the official sponsor of Rare Disease Day in the United States. Rare Disease Day was established in Europe in 2008 by NORD’s European partner, EURORDIS, and is celebrated around the world on the last day of February each year. The purpose is to raise awareness of rare diseases as a public health issue.

A large part of the success of Rare Disease Day is the collaboration and partnership of many organizations, companies and government agencies who share the goal of raising awareness for rare diseases. Each year, more groups sign up to become Rare Disease Day Partners.
