First Prize awarded at Major International Conference For Poster on Rare Cancer

The poster is based on the NORD research grant awarded to Dr. Renehan in 2009.

Andrew Renehan, PhD, award recipient of a 2009 NORD research grant focused on the rare cancer, pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), with his team of co-investigators at the University of Manchester, UK, received "First Prize" for their poster presentation at the October 2012 International Peritoneal Surface Malignancies Conference.   The poster is based on the NORD research grant awarded to Dr. Renehan in 2009.

Dr. Renehan's NORD study, which is still in progress, is titled, Establishing Methods for Evaluating Anti-tumor Therapies for Treatment of Pseudomysoma Peritonei Using Gene Profiles and Immortalized Cells. The poster presentation was the result of a team effort, consisting of  Andrew Renehan, PhD as Primary Investigator, and Co-Investigators Darren L. Roberts, PhD, Colorectal Cancer, Miss Sarah T. O'Dwyer, MD, MBChB, Clinical Director of Colorectal and Pelvic Surgical Oncology, and Peter L. Stern, PhD, Department of Medical Oncology.  View the First Prize poster.

Dr. Renehan's NORD study is funded by the patient organization, the PMP Research Foundation.
