View "An Overview of the Social Security Disability Programs" webinar

On April 17, Peter Smith, a Policy Analyst with the Social Security Administration conducted an SSA overview webinar.

All NORD Member Organizations were invited to participate in a teleconference with a representative of the Social Security Administration (SSA) on Wednesday April 17 at  2 p.m.  The topic was:  "An Overview of the Social Security Disability Programs".

The speaker was Peter Smith, a Policy Analyst with the U.S. Social Security Administration.

Speaker Biography:

Peter Smith is a Policy Analyst with the U.S. Social Security Administration. He works in the Office of Disability Programs on the agency’s Compassionate Allowances initiative. Peter joined SSA in 2009 as a Presidential Management Fellow, and has served in a variety of capacities throughout the agency. He has also served with the Departments of Homeland Security and Housing and Urban Development.

Peter holds a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from Florida International University. He lives in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood with his wife, Liana, a high school English teacher.
