About Huntington’s Disease Youth Organization

The Huntington’s Disease Youth Organization (HDYO) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support to young people (children, teens and young adults) impacted by Huntington’s disease around the world. HDYO seeks to provide quality information to young people and their families about Huntington’s disease. HDYO also looks to improve support for young people both locally and globally, by collaborating with national Huntington’s disease associations around the world to improve youth support in their area as efficiently and appropriately as possible. Huntington’s disease is a genetic, progressive, neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the gradual development of involuntary muscle movements affecting the hands, feet, face, and trunk and progressive deterioration of cognitive processes and memory (dementia).
