The IgA Nephropathy Support Network (IGANSN) is a national, voluntary organization dedicated to helping people with IgA nephropathy and their families. IgA nephropathy is a kidney disorder characterized by chronic inflammation of the kidney, blood in the urine (hematuria), abnormally increased levels of protein in the urine (proteinuria), deposits of IgA immunoglobulin in certain areas of the kidney, and other symptoms and physical findings. The primary goal of the IgA Nephropathy Support Network is to function as a clearinghouse for information on IgA nephropathy. To further this goal, the network has prepared pamphlets on the disease and maintains an extensive database of current medical literature related to IgA nephropathy. Patient concerns and the latest medical research are covered in the organization's newsletter. The IgA Nephropathy Support Network also promotes research into the causes, treatments, and possible cures of IgA nephropathy.
