The Exceptional Parent is a monthly magazine published for families and professionals. Its editorial mission is to reach out to mothers and fathers of children and young adults with disabilities and special health care needs; to empower parents and professionals by providing practical information and emotional support; to appreciate that parents are the most important experts in the lives of their children; to energize parents and professionals; and to share ideas and experiences so parents, professionals, people with disabilities, and advocates can learn from one another and better collaborate to serve all children and families. Its regular "Search and Respond" column gives readers an opportunity to exchange information about their practical experiences meeting the everyday challenges of life with a child or adolescent with a disability.
