The WSC Center for Community Support and Research at Wichita State University (WSC CCSR) is a non-profit, statewide service organization that supports a variety of community efforts, creating and sustaining positive community change by ensuring that all Kansans have a voice and can share their talents and experiences to create thriving, supportive communities. WSC Center for Community Support and Research works with non-profit organizations, community coalitions, self-help groups, organizations, and grassroots groups who are interested in increasing the capacity of Kansans to serve their communities. Self-help services provided by WSC include increasing the awareness, utilization, and development of self-help support groups and networks by promoting self-help groups as cost-free effective components of a comprehensive health and mental health care system. In addition, WSC provides community services, education and training programs, and conducts research related to self-help. WSC provides cost-free technical assistance to new and existing groups through its statewide toll-free information line, maintains a Speakers' Bureau, and keeps a self-help library of literature useful to existing self-help groups and to individuals who desire to start new groups. Network publications include "Connections," a statewide directory of self-help groups.
