The ADA Technical Assistance Center is one of ten regional centers mandated by Congress when the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) were passed. These centers are part of a national network of technical assistance centers that provide training, referrals, and informational materials on the ADA at minimal costs (usually only postage or travel costs). This center works in the Rocky Mountain area and services Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. Through government grants, the ADA Technical Assistance Center is able to offer audio-visual aids, brochures, a newsletter, and a database. The Center is also involved in government and legislation. The newsletter, The ADA Today, is free to people within the Rocky Mountain area but is offered to the general public at a subscription price. The Center also offers Spanish language materials and supports American Sign Language.
