President and CEO Peter L. Saltonstall accepted the award on behalf of NORD.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPatient advocacy has never been more important than it is today and our honorees exemplify the commitment necessary to ensure patients\u2019 needs remain a top priority in life science companies,\u201d said BioNJ Chairman Francois Nader, MD, president and CEO of NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Other recipients of the award, in addition to NORD, were: Nick Buoniconti, National Football League Hall of Famer and founder of two organizations targeting paralysis; John Crowley, chairman and CEO of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc.; and Wise Young, MD, PhD, director of the W.M.
