The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is a critical program that provides 9 million children and pregnant women across the United States with comprehensive and affordable healthcare coverage.\u00a0With approximately 50 percent of individuals with rare diseases being children, CHIP is especially important to the rare disease community.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This week marks\u00a0100 days\u00a0since funding for CHIP expired. Congress has enacted a temporary funding package, but it simply is not enough.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Congress must vote by\u00a0January 19<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to fund the federal government, and when they do, long-term funding for CHIP must be included.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Today, January 10,\u00a0advocates are coming together in a national day of action.
