The initial application deadline is June 18, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NORD&#8217;s Rare Disease Research Grant Program is accepting proposals for scientific and\/or clinical research studies of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Alveolar Capillary Dysplasia with Misalignment of the Pulmonary Veins (ACD\/MPV)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 One grant of up to $50,000 U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Appendix Cancer and Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 Two grants of up to a combined total of $100,000 U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Autoimmune Polyglandular Syndrome Type 1 (APS-1)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 One grant of up to $100,000 U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Biliary Atresia<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 Two grants of up to a combined total of $190,500 U.S<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Malonic Aciduria<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 One grant of up to $52,000 U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Neuroendocrine Cell Hyperplasia of Infancy (NEHI)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 One grant of up to $30,000 U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>New-Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus (NORSE) and Febrile Infection-Related Epilepsy Syndrome (FIRES)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 Two grants of up to a combined total of $100,000 U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Primary Orthostatic Tremor<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 One grant of up to $42,500 U.S.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NORD encourages all U.S. and international researchers interested in studying one or more of these diseases t<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">o <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rarediseases.org\/for-clinicians-and-researchers\/research-opportunities\/requests-proposals\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">click here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to re<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">view the complete application guidelines detailed in the request for proposals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NORD\u2019s Rare Disease Research Grant Program provides seed funding to qualified researchers for translational or clinical studies related to the development of potential new diagnostics or treatments for rare disease. Over the past thirty years, NORD grants have led to the development of two FDA-approved treatments and numerous peer-reviewed publications. More than 150 grants have been awarded representing over $8 million in approved funding since the program\u2019s launch in 1989. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;For the last 30 years, we have been so inspired by the generous support of our donors,&#8221; said Vanessa Boulanger, NORD&#8217;s Director of Research Programs. &#8220;The rare disease community has a deep understanding of the critical need to engage with scientists to support novel research that accelerates the development of discoveries that save lives.
