Dr. Woodcock has consistently demonstrated her deep commitment to the rare disease patient community. Under her leadership, FDA has made important advances in regulatory science which have helped foster the much-needed development of hundreds of orphan drugs. The rare disease community also has benefited from Dr. Woodcock\u2019s central role at the agency over the last year as treatments and vaccines for COVID-19 have become available.
