A growing number of children and adults suffer from a chronic and complex group ofdisorders described as Eosinophilic (E-O-sin-O-phil-ik) Gastrointestinal Disorders. These disordersare characterized by having above normal amounts of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, in oneor more specific places anywhere in their digestive system, which causes inflammation and damage.These disorders are often triggered by food proteins and patients living with these disorders oftenhave food allergies as well. Diagnosis can only be made through tissue biopsies. These diseases arechronic and often debilitating. Delays in diagnosis are common and often patients aremisdiagnosed. And there is no cure!
