Genetic Counseling for Rare and Undiagnosed Conditions: What Is it, Do I Need It and How Can I Find It?
August 12 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Many rare diseases have an underlying genetic cause. Individuals and families living with a rare or undiagnosed disorder or those concerned about the risk of a rare disorder can benefit from meeting with a genetic counselor. Genetic counselors are healthcare professionals with advanced training in medical genetics and counseling who work to help families:
- Understand the genetics and natural history of genetic disorders in the family
- Explain and discuss testing and treatment options
- Provide psychosocial support
Join us to hear perspectives from genetic counselors and parents about how genetic counseling can be beneficial.
This webinar is intended for patients, caregivers, families and the general public.
