Student run Rare Disease Day at Northeastern University! This will consist of an event made to educate the student body about rare disease. It will be a panel of speakers that are all involved in the rare disease community in different ways. There are four speakers: Laurie Edwards, Amal Scott, Donna Duboc, and a representative from Alexion. Laurie Edwards is a Northeastern professor that is a science/health writer, focusing on chronic and rare diseases. Amal Scott runs a vascular anomalies clinic at Boston Children’s Hospital. Donna Duboc is the Director of Communications at the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation. The representative from Alexion works in drug development of a new rare disease therapy.
