This year the LAM Foundation is partnering with the Rare Lung Diseases Consortium for what will be the first conference in over a decade to create a congress of physician-scientists and patient advocates focused on rare lung diseases, and will be the largest and most comprehensive international scientific research meeting focused to rare lung diseases ever held. Anticipated conference outcomes include strengthening networks of investigators, clinicians and patients, disseminating up-to-date knowledge and facilitating clinical trials.
The RLDC•2016•Cincinnati is innovative because it will create a forum for synergies between rare lung diseases with great momentum, such as LAM and PAP, and those that are ripe for translation but desperately in need of focused attention, such as PLCH and PAM. The conference format will be unconventional by including a day of brief, rapid podium presentations followed by panel discussions and disease-specific workshops.
This year Robert Kotloff, MD, from the Cleveland Clinic will serve as Clinical Science Chair and William Parks, PhD, from Cedar-Sinai Medical Center will serve as the Basic Science Chair.
