About American Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Support

The American Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Support is a voluntary organization whose mission is to provide education and support to patients, their families and medical personnel regarding multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) type 1, MEN type 2a, MEN type 2b. MEN type 1 is a rare genetic disorder in which benign (noncancerous) tumors arise from the cells of various glands of the endocrine system. Multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) type 2 is a rare genetic disorder characterized by an increased risk of developing a specific form of thyroid cancer (medullary thyroid carcinoma) and benign tumors affecting additional glands of the endocrine system. Our mission is to provide support to the families of and people with MEN Type 1, 2a and 2b, and subsequent subsets of MEN. We do this through public awareness, advocacy and education which empowers MEN Families and Individuals, in making well informed medical decisions in their treatment and MEN care.
