Brittle Diabetes Foundation Inc.

The Brittle Diabetes Foundation (BDF) is a 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to raising awareness of brittle diabetes (BD) as a rare disease, distinct and different from stable type1 diabetes. Through their informational and interactive website they provide informaton and support to people afflicted with BD. A series of motivational and educational videos are provided on the website. Individuals may share their experiences via their website and learn about BD: its causes, treatment, exercise precautions, nutrition, clinical research and technological advances that serve to improve the quality of life of brittle diabetics. BDF�s ultimate goal is to establish a BD Medical Center for the customized treatment of brittle diabetics. Brittle diabetes is a form of Type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes in which blood sugar fluctuates rapidly, leading to uncontrollable blood sugar levels and its side-effects.
