About Disabled Peoples’ International
The Disabled Peoples’ International (DPI) is an international, non-profit, self-help group that is dedicated to the enhancement of the rights and opportunities of all disabled people. Established in 1981, DPI is dedicated to the philosophy that disabled persons are citizens with equal rights and hence should achieve full participation and equalization of opportunity with their fellow citizens in all societies. Consisting of 114 members, the organization provides several materials including a newsletter entitled “Disability International,” numerous reports, and a publications listing. DPI offers several services including networking and lobbying.
