About Iowa Regional Genetic Consultation Service

The Regional Genetic Consultation Service (RGCS) is a non-profit professional organization serving Iowa and its surrounding states. Established in 1976, the primary purpose of the RGCS is to provide the structure through which comprehensive genetic health care services are provided as an integral component of the state�s health care system. A secondary purpose is to assure the provision of statewide genetics education in order to promote health and prevent disease. Some of the services provided by RGCS include case finding, diagnostic evaluations and confirmatory testing, medical management, provision of information to individuals and families, case management, and education and consultation.
