The Fibrous Dysplasia Foundation, Inc. (FDF) is a worldwide, not-for-profit, charitable organization of volunteers whose mission is to provide information, advocacy and support for patients, medical professionals and the general public and to promote research for diagnosis, treatment and a cure for Fibrous Dysplasia (FD) and McCune-Albright’s Syndrome (MAS), and related diseases, including Cherubism. Fibrous dysplasia is a term that refers to either a group of chronic conditions featuring cystic bone growth that may arise from abnormal bone development or to a disease of bone marrow characterized by benign cysts. Fibrous dysplasia is characterized by uneven growth, pain, brittleness, and deformity of the affected bones.
