The Simons Variations in Individuals Project (Simons VIP) is a non-profit, online community, initially focused on deletions and duplications of 16p11.2 and 1q21.1, but the community has now expanded to include changes in over 25 genes related to developmental delay and features of autism. This website community provides support, resources and research opportunities to families with these gene changes.

The goal of the Simons VIP Research Study is to better understand the features of individuals with many types of genetic changes associated with developmental delay and features of autism. Participating in the study is voluntary; families are welcome to join the online community without participating in research. Data collection for 16p11.2 and 1q21.1 families has been encouraging and has led to a better understanding of the features involved with these genetic changes. We look forward to learning even more by studying the single genes listed below:

We invite you to check out our website and encourage you to register to begin connecting with other families today! Please contact us at 855-329-5638 or for more information.
