The Steffens Foundation

The Steffens Foundation, was launched in 2010 from a generous donation made by Helen Polenz, in honor of her daughter, Ann
Steffens, who died of complications from scleroderma. During 2016 the foundation formally and legally incorporated with 501(3)(c) status.
Steffens’ primary goals are to expedite diagnosis and improve patient experience, through research, awareness, and collaboration
within the guidelines of three point mission:
– Support and promote research toward treatment and cure of scleroderma, Degos disease, and other related disorders.
– Promote awareness and understanding of these disorders, especially among health-care professionals
– Encourage collaborative efforts, nationally and internationally, aimed at realizing these goals
