I am a physician in residency, and my first year of residency was in a different state. I moved for my 2nd year and have not been able to make an appointment with a local primary care physician since moving nearly nine months ago. I had appointments that were cancelled because the doctor was sick, and the earliest they could re-schedule to was months away. The only reason I could continue receiving care without going to urgent care was because telehealth appointments with my primary care provider in a different state allowed continuity of care. Staying healthy myself allowed me to better care for others.
