The cureCADASIL Association is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to raise awareness of CADASIL, so that the condition will be universally recognized and understood by the medical community. They are dedicated to helping patients, families, caregivers and other supporters who have been affected by CADASIL. They serve to unite patients and the medical community in the common goal of finding treatments, and ultimately a cure, for this rare genetic disease, through programs of communication, advocacy, research and education. CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Sub-cortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy) is an inherited form of cerebrovascular disease that occurs when the thickening of blood vessel walls blocks the flow of blood to the brain. It is characterized by migraine headaches and multiple strokes, progressing to dementia.
