European Chromosome 11q Network
About European Chromosome 11q Network
The European Chromosome 11q Network is an international self-help organization dedicated to providing information, assistance, and support to parents of children with abnormalities of the long arm of chromosome 11 (11q). Such 11q chromosome disorders include Jacobsen syndrome, a rare chromosomal disorder also known as “partial deletion” or “partial monosomy” of chromosome 11q; duplication (or “trisomy”) of chromosomal material on 11q; or other chromosomal abnormalities. Associated symptoms and physical features depend upon the exact length, location, and nature of the specific 11q chromosomal abnormality in question. Established in 1997, the European Chromosome 11q Network is dedicated to networking parents of affected children, collecting and disseminating information concerning 11q chromosomal disorders, following the latest scientific developments, promoting research, and organizing international conferences on 11q disorders for affected families.
