About Prevent Blindness America
The Prevent Blindness America is a non-profit, voluntary organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight. Established in 1908, Prevent Blindness America and its nationwide network of affiliates, divisions, and chapters serve millions of people each year through public and professional education, community and patient service programs, and research. Consisting of 35,000 volunteers and 43 chapters, the organization produces educational materials including brochures entitled «Age-Related Macular Degeneration,»»Signs of Possible Eye Trouble in Adults,» and «Your Child’s Sight.» The organization also produces videos, posters, and brochures. Program activities include support groups, patient advocacy, referrals, and a toll-free help line.
