Fahr Beyond

Fahr Beyond is a small volunteer-led UK-based charity representing and supporting patients affected by Fahr’s disease (and their families). Fahr Beyond is a registered charity that supports the Fahr’s community and as such not only do we support people in the UK, but also internationally.

Fahr’s disease (also known as Primary Familial Brain Calcification or Primary Brain Calcification) is a rare neurodegenerative condition, characterized by calcification in the brain, as it progresses it usually manifests with Parkinson’s like symptoms, tremor, urinary and gastro complications, and cognitive decline. Ultimately, Fahr’s is life-limiting/ending and there is currently no cure, although significant advancements have been made. We work with clinicians at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London to support patients accessing the Fahr’s Referral Service. Furthermore, we facilitate the development of educational resources and tackling loneliness through a range of activities.
