Despite extraordinary advances in genome sequencing, AI, and precision medicine, only about 40% of the undiagnosed diseases receive a diagnosis. That means nearly 60% remain without answers — not just for years, but often for decades, sometimes for life.

Living without a diagnosis means more than uncertainty. It means no clear treatment pathway, no prognosis, limited access to care, and often isolation from community and support systems. Families are left navigating a lifelong diagnostic odyssey without direction.

At Wilhelm Foundation, we refuse to accept that millions PLWUD remain unseen. Through the pioneering Undiagnosed Hackathon we work to find new ways to solve the undiagnosed diseases we can’t solve today.
