AIU and Danny’s Dose are working together on this Family Fun and Emergency Preparedness Education Event. The event aims to educate patient families on proper “Emergency Preparedness”, to raise awareness with EMS about the specialized emergency care needs of certain conditions and help spur the creation of relationships between the two groups in a family-friendly and engaging environment with fun mixed in with breakout educational sessions and a hands-on tour through a real ambulance. Through various activities and informational booths, we seek to educate families about the need for establishing “Treatment Guidelines” and having good emergency plans in place. This information is vital for approx. 40 identified rare and chronic conditions that in total affect 28 million Americans, affecting over ½ a million in Tennessee and inspire them to take action or get involved in our life-saving efforts.
