Instituto de Errores Innatos del Metabolismo

The Instituto de Errores Innatos del Metabolismo (IEIM) is a non-profit organization devoted to enhancing awareness and increasing understanding of inborn errors of metabolism among affected families, medical professionals, and the public. Based in Bogota, Colombia, IEIM also encourages research on these diseases, which are present at birth and represent the inability to break down (metabolize) certain substances within the body because of missing or defective enzymes.
