ALS Therapy Development Institute
About ALS Therapy Development Institute
The ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop effective therapeutics that slow or stop the progression of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Through the use of international ALS research databases, the ALS TDI lab evaluates and tests preclinical potential therapeutics, including small molecules, protein biologics, gene therapies and cell-based constructs. ALS TDI employs 30 professional scientists to conduct these studies. We collaborate with academia and industry to accelerate ALS therapeutic development. ALS is one of a group of diseases known as motor neuron diseases. It is characterized by progressive degeneration and eventual death of nerve cells in the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord that facilitate communication between the nervous system and voluntary muscles of the body.
