The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is a professional organization that represents physicians, scientists, and other health care professionals who specialize in infectious diseases. Established in 1964 the mission of the IDSA is to promote and recognize excellence in patient care, education, research, public health, and prevention of infectious diseases. Consisting of 5,500 members, educational materials include an information brochure and a newsletter.
