About International Hyperhidrosis Society
The International Hyperhidrosis Society (IHHS) is a voluntary, non-profit organization committed to reducing the symptoms, anxiety and social stigma associated with excessive sweating by offering education, support and medical resources to an estimated 176 million affected children, teens and adults worldwide. IHHS is a global network of support, education, advancement, resources and understanding composed of people from all over the world. Primary hyperhidrosis is a rare disorder characterized by excessive sweating on the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet, in the armpits (axillary), in the groin area, and/or under the breasts. The exact cause of primary hyperhidrosis is not known. When excessive sweating occurs as part of some other disorder, it is said to be secondary hyperhidrosis, which is a more commonly encountered condition than is primary hyperhidrosis.
