About National Hydrocephalus Foundation
The National Hydrocephalus Foundation (NHF) is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1979. Its mission is to establish and facilitate a communication network among those affected by hydrocephalus and their families, provide information and educational materials, increase public awareness, and promote and support research related to cause, prevention, and treatment. Hydrocephalus is a condition in which cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the skull and puts pressure on the brain tissue. It has several different forms. The foundation has a reference library, with printed materials and videos, and produces a quarterly newsletter, which includes medical articles, human interest stories, book reviews, and updates on available resources, including special education services and web sites.
