About National MALS Foundation (Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome)
National Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome Foundation, Inc. (National MALS Foundation) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the mission of providing hope and support (body, mind, spirit) to those suffering from the debilitating symptoms of Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (“MALS”) through advocacy, awareness, education and research within the clinical and mainstream communities. The foundation was started to bring awareness to such a debilitating disease, advocate for faster and more reliable diagnostic tests, pre- and post-surgical protocols, including short and long term follow-up, smoother transition of care for comprehensive supportive services based on body, mind, spirit connection to healing the whole person. In addition, the foundation provides guidance and support in the medical community for clinicians who are looking for standardized protocols in diagnosis and treatment of MALS patients, and educates patients and family members who are looking for information that might help them on the path to getting answers for their pain and suffering.
