Autoimmune Hepatitis Association (AIHA)

About Autoimmune Hepatitis Association (AIHA)

The Autoimmune Hepatitis Association’s (AIHA) mission is to provide support and hope to patients and families affected by AIH through disease education and research opportunities. Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a rare chronic disease that occurs when patients’ immune systems attack their livers and sometimes damage them. With treatment, most patients don’t need liver transplants and have normal life expectancies. By pairing the expertise of a hepatologist with the firsthand experiences of patients, AIHA creates innovative and impactful programming that improves lives for families struggling with autoimmune hepatitis.
