About European Skeletal Dysplasia Network
The European Skeletal Dysplasia Network (ESDN) is a non-profit organization that provides an integrated research and diagnostic network for skeletal dysplasias. The objectives of ESDN are two fold: To understand what cellular, molecular and genetic factors cause bone dysplasias and to develop effective approaches for the diagnosis of bone dysplasias. Ultimately this integrated and multidisciplinary approach will promote the correct diagnosis of many skeletal dysplasias. Skeletal dysplasias are a group of disorders characterized by abnormalities of cartilage and bone growth, resulting in abnormal shape and size of the skeleton and disproportion of the long bones, spine, and head.
