About Aicardi Syndrome Foundation
The Aicardi Syndrome Foundation (ASF) is a voluntary rare disorder organization founded in 1993 to provide a network and financial support for families who have children afflicted by Aicardi syndrome, a congenital disorder in which the structure linking the two cerebral hemispheres of the brain (corpus callosum) fails to develop. ASF also provides grants for medical research on the disorder. In addition to patient networking, ASF also offers education and support groups to those affected.
