The American Lung Association of New England (ALANE) is a non-profit self-help organization dedicated to preventing lung disease and promoting lung health. Established in 1942, the Association provides appropriate referrals to health care providers and support groups; engages inpatient and professional education; and offers a variety of educational and support materials to patients, healthcare professionals, and the general public through its database and brochures.
