About Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
The Heart and Stroke Foundation is a national, voluntary, non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health of Canadians by preventing and reducing disability and death from heart disease and stroke through research, health promotion and advocacy. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is a federation of ten independent provincial foundations and one national office, led and supported by a force of more than 250,000 volunteers. To fulfill its mission and objectives, the foundation offers a variety of programs and services including sponsoring conferences and scientific meetings; offering scientific awards to recognize the merits of medical researchers’ contributions; providing advocacy and representation for its provincial divisions; engaging in lobbying efforts; and providing position statements.
