About Lupus Foundation of America, Inc.
Established in 1977, the Lupus Foundation of America is a non-profit, voluntary health organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, supporting individuals and families affected by the disease, increasing awareness of lupus among health professionals and the public, and finding the cure. The LFA seeks to increase public and private sector funding of lupus research, and provides direct financial support to lupus researchers; educates the public, physicians and other health professionals about lupus symptoms, diagnosis and treatment; advocates for public policies that increase government funding for lupus research, education programs, and support services; and collaborates with support groups and other interested partners to serve the needs of individuals with lupus, their families and caregivers.
