The Toxic Discovery is a national consumer advocacy organization made up of injured consumers and medical professionals. Established in 1994, Toxic Discovery's primary goals are: 1) to be a source of centralized information and support for people seeking help with silicone-related issues and medical device failures and recalled prescriptions, 2) to aid in the identification of immune related responses to manmade medical devices, 3) to develop a professional networking team of doctors, lawyers, and other medical professionals who are experts in this area, 4) to explore current and future immune related responses to foreign device failures and chemical injury, and 5) to network with other organizations with knowledge of medical device failures and chemical injury, and 6) to raise funds and awareness for medical device injury and possible treatment. Toxic Discovery produces educational materials including a newsletter, brochures, and a registry. The organization coordinates support groups.
