Today, advocates across the country are joining together to #SaveCHIP!
The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is a critical program that provides 9 million children and pregnant women across the United States with comprehensive and affordable healthcare coverage. With approximately 50 percent of individuals with rare diseases being children, CHIP is especially important to the rare disease community.
This week marks 100 days since funding for CHIP expired. Congress has enacted a temporary funding package, but it simply is not enough.
Congress must vote by January 19 to fund the federal government, and when they do, long-term funding for CHIP must be included.
Today, January 10, advocates are coming together in a national day of action. We hope you will join us and ask Congress to preserve this crucial healthcare coverage for millions of children and pregnant women!
