NORD was one of four recipients of the first-ever “Patient Advocate Awards” of BioNJ, which represents more than 300 life sciences companies in New Jersey.The awards were presented at the 21st Annual Meeting and Networking Event of BioNJ. President and CEO Peter L. Saltonstall accepted the award on behalf of NORD.
“Patient advocacy has never been more important than it is today and our honorees exemplify the commitment necessary to ensure patients’ needs remain a top priority in life science companies,” said BioNJ Chairman Francois Nader, MD, president and CEO of NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Other recipients of the award, in addition to NORD, were: Nick Buoniconti, National Football League Hall of Famer and founder of two organizations targeting paralysis; John Crowley, chairman and CEO of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc.; and Wise Young, MD, PhD, director of the W.M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience and a professor at Rutgers University.
