This month marks the 50th Anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid programs, signed into law on July 30, 1965 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. As part of the anniversary celebration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) want to hear from YOU – patients and caregivers around the country – about how Medicare and Medicaid have made a difference in your life. CMS has set up storytelling and social media initiatives for this effort, including:
- Submit your story via the “Share Your Story” initiative on the CMS website.
- Tweets: “50 Days. 50 Facts”: June 11th starts the 50-day countdown to July 30th, the day Medicare and Medicaid programs were signed into law. Each day, CMS will tweet an important fact about Medicare and/or Medicaid. Join in and share the conversation! Go to https://twitter.com/CMSGov and retweet each day’s tweet on the 50 facts in 50 days using the hashtag #KeepingUSHealthy.
