The organization also serves as an integral resource for members of the medical community. AGMD was established in 1991 and was formerly known as the Association of Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders, Inc. AGMD offers three newsletters: the AGMD Beacon, AGMD Search And Research, and the AGMD Digestive Motility Forum. It also offers many other educational materials.
