About Autoimmune Association
The Autoimmune Association is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to autoimmune disease awareness, advocacy, education, and research. The association supports research to find a cure for autoimmune diseases and provides services to affected individuals. Its goals include increasing the public’s awareness that autoimmunity is the cause of more than 100 serious chronic diseases; bringing national focus and collaborative effort among state and national voluntary health groups that represent autoimmune diseases; and serving as a national advocate for individuals and families affected by the physical, emotional, and financial effects of autoimmune disease. The Autoimmune Association offers educational and support materials on its website, autoimmune.org, and convenes an annual virtual event for people living with and affected by autoimmune disease. The Autoimmune Association was formerly known as the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA).
