Description

The objects of the Association are -

(a) to promote knowledge and understanding of the condition known as Benign Essential Blepharospasm;
(b) initiate and support research into the awareness of Benign Essential Blepharospasm (BEB) by health professionals especially front line practices like GPs, optometrists and pharmacists;
(c) provision of information to the above health professionals, sufferers and their carers about the condition, its treatment, sources of the treatment and ongoing support;
(d) build and maintain a comprehensive website as a source of all relevant data relating to the condition including personal case studies;
(e) provide links to medical research into BEB being carried out worldwide;
(f) invite sufferers to become members of our support group and to enjoy fellowship of other sufferers;
(g) provide newsletters and hold meetings where members can share experiences about living with the condition;
(h) build and maintain a list of known treaters of the condition throughout Australia;
(i) Build and maintain a list of other support groups like ours to allow sharing of effective programs;
(j) Encourage and assist with a the formation of other support groups where there are clusters of sufferers with no local support.
