Children’s Glaucoma Foundation

About Children’s Glaucoma Foundation

The Children’s Glaucoma Foundation (CGF) has a three-fold mission: to inform parents, medical personnel, and others (such as teachers and childcare workers) about the risk of blindness secondary to childhood glaucoma; to familiarize pediatricians and family physicians with the signs and symptoms of childhood glaucoma; and to support scientific investigation related to childhood glaucoma. Glaucoma is the term used for a group of eye diseases that cause progressive damage to the optical nerve. It is a leading cause of vision loss in children and a preventable cause of childhood blindness. The foundation is a not-for-profit organization serving patients, the general public, health professionals, and other professionals. It was established in 1999.
